The head of the hospital. is Dr Marsuki. According to him, the local government subsidies the living cost of the people affected by leprosy with about 36 million rupiah in the year 2002. Also allocated are packages (JPSBK) from the government with an amount of 100 million rupiah per year. Toraja churches and Dutch organizations donate school fees for children. Occasionally, the community donates packages of rice, sugar, milk, noodles etc. The majority of people affected by leprosy has deformities and is depending very much on the help of donations.
The land and houses still belong to the government. The building is not like a usual hospital; the patients can stay there with their families.
Medical services
One paramedic under the supervision of Dr. Marsuki runs the out patient department (OPD).
The in patient department (IPD) with 67 beds is fully occupied. The buildings are not like usual wards, but consist of a group of houses, where patients stay with their families. Therefore the difference between the in patients and out patients department is not really clear.
