Dr. M. Adhyatma: 1970 - 1974
During the period of Dr. Adhyadma, the National Leprosy Control Program was under the organisational structure of the Directorate General for Health Development. Later it was known as the Directorate General for Communicable Disease Prevention, Control and Eradication (Direktorat Jenderal Pencegahan dan Pemberantasan dan Pembasmian Penyakit Menular (P4M/Krida Nirmala).

Under the new Government of President Soeharto the development in Indonesia was systematically designed in 5-year plans. The first 5-year plan was fixed from 1970 to 1974. Leprosy control was included in this first 5-year Plan. At that time (1970) the total number of registered leprosy cases was 53,274 in Indonesia, with a prevalence rate (PR) of 4.4 per 10,000 inhabitants. During the final term of Dr. Adhyatma in 1974, it was reported that there were 93,395 leprosy cases with a PR of 7.4 per 10.000 population.
