General information


The hospital was erected at an area land of 2115 M2 in 1952, caters for leprosy. From the beginning the main function of the hospital is a referral hospital for leprosy patients in Central Java. At present the hospital caters for general diseases and leprosy and belongs to central java province government. There are 54 beds provided for non-leprosy patients and 26 beds for leprosy. Total number of non- leprosy patients admitted to the hospital was 2041 with average of BOR 55.4% and duration of stay 4.1days in 2001. Similarly to leprosy patients, 140 in total with average of BOR 40.3% and duration of stay 30.1 days. Health services and facilities are given free of charge to leprosy patients, and paid for non-leprosy.

According to the director, the Tugurejo hospital is still a referral hospital for leprosy patients in central province. Kelet and Donorojo are still under supervision of Tugurejo.
