Dr. M.R. Teterissa 1985 – Sept 1989
The Sub-directorate Leprosy Control still maintained its name but the Directorate General P4M now became the Directorate General for Communicable Disease Control and Environmental Health (CDC &EH).
Leprosy Control in Indonesia was still carried out using mono DDS but in addition MDT programs had been set up. With the advancement of the MDT Program in Indonesia, Donor Agencies such as Sasakawa Memorial Health Foundation, The Leprosy Mission, Ciba Geigy Leprosy Fund, and the Nederlandse Stichting voor Leprabestrijding (NSL) increased their assistance. There were 126,221 people with leprosy with a PR of 8.1 per 10.000 population in 1985. This number decreased to 112,233 with a PR of 6.9 per 10.000 population during the final term of Dr. Teterissa in 1989.
